CLASSROOM JOBS

Our Classroom Jobs

Students hold jobs in the classroom community. Jobs will be rotated weekly.  Each job is a paid position, and students receive credits in their accounts that can be cashed in for money at the James Bank every other Friday.  Below are descriptions of the jobs and pay schedule for each position.

 Paper Manager -The PM helps the teacher pass out papers, collect papers, journals ect.

$5 /Day 

Bathroom Manager-The BM makes sure students are on task during their restroom break, distributes sanitizer, soap, tissue or paper towels.

$5 /Day 

Office Messenger      The messenger does all errands for the teacher when necessary.  Taking the attendance to the office is the first job every morning.

$5 /Day

Class Manager    The CM makes sure students are following rules during indoor recess, or when Mrs. James is in the hall.

$5 /Day 

Line Leader-The line leader leads students to all specials, stopping at all double door and intersections.

$5 /Day 

Homework Helper -This person checks old homework weekly and charts each student with stars. They gather new homework and progress report, add them to the folder and pass out.

$15 /week

Banker -The Banker cashes all students' checks on Payday, stamping the checks with PAID and initialing the back to show that the check was received.

$25 /Week 

Class Librarian -Makes sure that the library books are organized correctly. Gathers all school library books and cards and brings them to library

$5/day  

Cashier      The cashier works at the class store.  He or she takes Money and makes change for student shoppers.

$25 /Week

Lunch Manager   The LM delivers the lunch count in the mornings and manages the class during lunch period.

$5/day

Plant Manager      The PM waters all live plants every other day or when needed. 

$5/day 

Media Manager   The MM turns on all computers, laptops, c.d. players, plugs in overhead projector in the morning for morning work $5/day

Tidy T     Cleans up trash and erases or washes the board when needed 

$5/day

Chair Collector   Student stacks and unstacks chairs in the a.m. and p.m.

$5/day

This year, we will utilize a “classroom economy” to teach the concept of “economics”, positively reinforce appropriate behaviors, and provide consequences for inappropriate behaviors.  Each week, the students will earn paychecks, pay fines, and “budget” their money. Below is a list of “credits” and “debits” that will be utilized in our classroom this year.
